Excerpt:
Its still early so don't expect anything here until later in November.
I often leave the raw excerpt up during NaNoEdMo in March.
Previous Years
I have participated in NaNoWriMo since 2000. 2006 was my sixth year of completion.
The 2000 'creation' was a good learning experience--and that is the best thing
I have to say about it. I did not "win" NaNoWriMo as I failed to complete 40k.
I have put the 2001 project The Letter Blueinto the "maybe I'll resurrect
when I'm rich and famous and hard-up for material and truly desperate" files
aka "richard bachman" box.
What is now Time War: The Origins is the MUCH polished result of 2002. It was the
first piece to undergo NaNoEdMo (what, you thought it was just writing?!) in 2005.
The 2003 project has become The Podkayne Frostfire. I turned it into a
screenplay after a treatment was well-received. It was personally rejected by Section Eight
2004 was the year of Clockwise Coffee. I had written the first Chef Jean Luigi book
earlier in the year and wanted to get a jump on the sequel. There are currently three completed.
In 2005, Obsession was my project. By November 28th, I had written 63,133 words.
I validated on that date and received my winner certificate. It was the 2006 NaNoEdMo work.
For 2006, I cheated a bit and worked on a piece I already had roughly outlined before Nov. 1.
Gwendolyn Grace Learns the Xylophone is one of 30 for a children's series I have planned.
While I have illustrations for all the books, I worked exclusively on the X text during NaNoWriMo.
The X book was the 2007 NaNoEdMo project. During that time I also tinkered with some of the images.
